How to reach Valencia

By air

Valencia international airport, which is located 8 Km away from city center, is connected with the main European airports.

Once in the airport, you can reach the city center by:

  • Metro:
    Line 5 Aeropuerto / Marítim-Serreria. Approx. every 10-20 minutes.
    Line 3 Aeropuerto / Machado – Alboraya Peris Aragó – Rafelbunyol (Metrovalencia). Approx. every 10-20 minutes.

  • Bus:
    Metrobus, Line 150 Valencia – Manises – Aeropuerto: Timetable: Airport-Valencia: 6:30, then every 30 minutes until 21:30 / 22:00.
    Fare: approx. 1.45 €. Journey time: 40 minutes.

  • Taxi:

By train

Valencia is connected with Madrid and Barcelona by high-speed trains. Buying the tickets in advance (purchase on line) you can get discounts up to 70%.

It takes 1 hour 40 minutes to travel from downtown Madrid (Atocha station) to Valencia city center (Joaquín Sorolla station), and about 3 hours from Barcelona (Sants station).

By car

Valencia is well connected to main Spanish cities. Madrid to Valencia takes about 4 hours; 3 hours from Barcelona; and 1 hour 30 minutes from Alicante.

By bus

There are several bus private companies that connect Valencia to many other Spanish cities. They usually offer low prices and often frequencies, and you can buy the tickets on line.
